These instructions are for a soccer field where the internal dimensions
are 1220 x 1830. It is designed so that the sides slip over the edge of
the base. Other designs allow the sides to be attached to the base,
resulting in the external dimensions of the field being 1220 x 1830.
Both tables are within the limits specified by the RCJ rules.
This table is designed so that it can be easily transported by
a medium sized car and can be quickly assembled by screwing the four
corners together and the sliding the walls over the base.

Goal Backs
2 x 450

(all dimensions in mm)
Notes
The base can be either cut into halves (1220 x 915) or thirds. Halves are preferable for a flatter base
Inside goal pieces (809 x 450) can be cut from left over
Particle Board (809 x 450). These can either be left loose or attached
to the end pieces, adding further support.
End pieces and goals should be drilled, screwed and glued.
Take note that the goal sides run from the inside of the field to the
outside of the goals. ie other pieces butt onto the goal sides.
Hinges should be placed in the middle of the side pieces
with the pivot and plates on the outside wall. ie the walls push
outwards and are held firm by the base.
Pre drill the side pieces so that the end wall butts onto the side pieces.
Number each corner so that they can be seen after painting. ie indentations made with the tip of a drill work well.
Corner pieces can be made from a solid length of square pine.
If you are using a bench saw to rip the 45 degree corner pieces, check
the depth that the saw can cut with two runs. If it does not reach, use
75 x 75 lengths of pine
Corner pieces do not need to be attached.
If there is any curvature in the base, it should be placed so that the ball tends to roll to the centre of the field
Paint
RCJA recommend Matte Black paint(blackboard paint) and Matte white paint. Both should be either Turps or water based.
Inside all walls of the goals and the goal base should be a grey colour, painted with 75% White and 25% Black paint.
For better aesthetics, and reduced risk of warping, paint inside and outside walls of the fields.
